The Quidel Quickvue At-home COVID-19 Test Receives the First Home Self-testing Antigen Test Authorization from Health Canada

Building off their success in the United States, Quidel has been successful in receiving their authorization from Health Canada (IO 331681) for the first rapid antigen test authorized for home self-testing.

Although the sensitivity is only 81.3% (PPA), the authorization it marks an important milestone in the legitimacy of self-testing in Canada that has been adopted worldwide by many nations.

This simple strip-based test is both easy-to-use and economical. We hope to see the test available to purchase in 2022.
