Ellume Receives Health Canada COVID-19 Home Test Authorization

An Australian company, Ellume, is the latest entrant into the rapid test market in Canada with the  Ellume COVID-19 Home Test authorized under Interim Order 333567.

At this time it is not clear when the Ellume COVID-19 Home Test will be available in Canada, but it’s great to see Health Canada continuing in its efforts to authorize more tests for self-testing.

The Ellume COVID-19 Home Test is unique as it is an electronic-based test that communicates with an app on your smartphone. This technology should reduce the complexity of reading the test and determining the outcome as that is done automatically by the smart test cassette.
